Alfardan Automobiles, the official importer of BMW in Qatar, celebrated the successful conclusion of BMW brand’s eleventh consecutive year as the official car of Commercial Bank MotoGP in Doha.
Drivers, officials and organisers of the premier Grand Prix motorcycling racing event, which took place this last weekend at the Losail International Circuit, enjoyed a weekend of premium BMW models, with a luxury fleet of 25 models, including the BMW 5 Series, 6 Series 7 Series and BMW X6. The cars were used for chauffeuring and other transportation needs throughout the event.
In addition, the BMW M4 Coupe was provided as the lead model of a fleet of Safety Cars, as well as the BMW X5M, which served as the medical car. Having made its Middle East debut at the Qatar International Motor show last month, the latest sports utility vehicle from BMW M combines the temperament of a traditional M sports car with the functionality of an X model, powered by the latest-generation 4.4-litre V8 engine, produces maximum output of 423 kW/575 hp, using innovative M TwinPower Turbo technology to push torque and output to even higher performance levels. Both cars are from BMW M GmbH, a subsidiary of the world’s leading premium automotive manufacturer for sports and high performance vehicles.
Together with BMW M GmbH, Alfardan Automobiles celebrated the launch and start of the Grand Prix season with an exclusive event, in which media representatives and customers were invited to attend the race at the Alfardan Automobiles VIP lounge. Guests also had the exclusive opportunity to ride in the BMW M4 Coupé safety car around the Losail International Circuit.
“Alfardan Automobiles has gone from strength to strength in Qatar, continuing our successful partnership for the twelfth year running with an international event such as the MotoGP is testament to our commitment to promote and support the expanding sporting calendar that Qatar now has,” said Alfardan Automobiles general manager Ihab Allam.
The BMW M4 Coupe has been designed for maximum driving dynamics, with race track abilities in mind. The six-cylinder inline engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology, a high-rev concept and distinct racing genes contributes significantly to the high-performance character of the overall concept. The production version of the sporting heart delivers a top performance of 431 hp (317 kW) and provides a maximum torque of 550 Nm over a broadly usable range of revolution speeds.
“We are proud to be the first to debut the BMW M4 Coupe as the lead safety car for the MotoGP, as well as the BMW X5M that I had the pleasure to reveal at the Qatar Motor Show for its regional debut. These two models are nothing short of perfection in automotive performance. As with every models that comes out of BMW M they bring innovation, technology and design like no other.”
