Doha: Ooredoo and the Qatar Football Association (QFA) yesterday announced that Ooredoo will be the Exclusive Telecommunication Sponsor for today’s international friendly match between Qatar and Algeria.
An agreement was signed by Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, CEO, Ooredoo Qatar, and Saoud al-Mohannadi, Vice President, QFA, to confirm Ooredoo’s support for the event.
The match, which is organised by QFA, will be held in Lekhwiya Stadium at 7pm, and is being played by the Qatar National Team to prepare for the Asian qualification matches ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and 2019AFC Asian Cup.
Sheikh Saud bin Nasser al-Thani, CEO, Ooredoo, said: “Hosting an event like this is important for the country, as it inspires so many people to come and watch the game and join in the spirit of football.  
“By bringing international standard matches to Qatar now, we hope to raise the excitement for the 2022 World Cup Qatar to fever pitch! We wish the Qatar team the very best of luck.”
Saoud al-Mohannadi, Vice President, QFA, said: “We thank Ooredoo for their support in this international friendly match against Algeria and for their ongoing support for various QFA tournaments. We at QFA believe in using football as a way to connect with the variety of communities in Qatar. We look forward to seeing the fans support their team in this important match. We wish our National Team the best of luck as they prepare for the Asian qualifiers of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia and AFC Asian Cup 2019.”
Following the Algeria friendly, the team will prepare for another friendly match against Slovenia which will take place on Monday in Lekhwiya Stadium at 7pm.  
Tickets for the match will be available at the ticket booths of Lekhwiya Stadium on the match day from 4pm onwards. Normal tickets will be available for just QR10 and will be sold at Gate 5, while the VIP tickets will be priced at QR50 and will be sold at Gates 1 and 3.
