Rashad Woods top-scored for either side with 33 points and Saeed Erfan Ali and Tyrone Anderson contributed 13 each as Al Sadd thrashed Al Shamal 81-47 in the Qatar Basketball League last
evening.
As the scores indicate, it was a lopsided match in which Al Sadd completed dominated proceedings, never allowing Al Shamal even a whiff of a chance at the Al Gharafa Indoor Hall.
Al Sadd were off to a rollicking start as they went ahead 24-6 at the end of the first quarter, a position from which they built on further later in the match.
By the end of the second quarter they were 51-15 up at which point it was all over for Al Shamal.
Al Sadd scored 50 points in the paint and had 18 from turnovers, while Shamal had just 22 and 8 respectively.
For Al Shamal, Anthony White was the top scorer with 12 points, while Kosar al-kader had 11.
In the second match of the day, Al Gharafa defeated Al Wakrah 81-68.
Monroe Samuel Jr top-scored with 24 points for Al Gharafa, while Deangelo Downey and Saad Abdulrahman had 18 apiece for the winners.
For Al Wakrah, Mohamed Abdulrehman scored 25 points, while Mohamed Ouiri was second best with 19.
