Dr David Cherry, Chairman of Asian-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) and the QPGC Secretary General Taimur Amin visited some of the Middle East countries in light of the APGC’s plan to develop golf in these nations. The APGC officials began their Middle East visit with a stop at Abu Dhabi, followed by visits to Oman, Qatar and Iran.
Mohamed Faisal al-Naimi, Executive Director of Qatar Golf Association, also accompanied the APGC delegation during the visit to the Middle East nations as he is a member of the APGC Executive Committee and a representative of the Middle East associations at the APGC. During his visit to Doha, the APGC Chairman lauded Qatar’s successful hosting of international championships, like the European Tour’s Qatar Masters, in Doha.
