WAHO president Peter Pond presents the IFAHR award to Umm Qarn trainer Alban de Miuelle after Al Tair was declared a joint winner with a rating of 124.

Qatar’s Djainka Des Forges and Al Tair were awarded the IFAHR Horse of the Year trophies for being the joint top rated four years and over Pure Arabians in 2014. The awards were presented during HH the Emir 24th International Equestrian Sword Festival, held under the patronage of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani.
Julian Smart trained Djainka Des Forges, who won the Qatar Arabian World Cup and was an emphatic winner of the Group I Hatta International Stakes is owned by HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Khalifa al-Thani. The Al Shahania Stud champion has a rating of 124.
Alban de Mieulle saddled Al Tair, who finished second in the Qatar Arabian World Cup conceding weight to the winner is owned by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Thani. The Umm Qarn bred champion has a similar rating of 124 and is one of the best Pure Arabians in the racing circuit.
Faiz al-Elweet owned Al Mouwaffak has a rating of 116 and is the highest rated three year old Pure Arabian of 2014. Al Mouwaffak has been unbeaten and had won the Qatar Arabian Trophy Des Poulains in France recently.
