El Jaish and Al Gharafa scored easy victories in the Qatar Basketball League at the Al Gharafa Sports Club last evening.
While El Jaish thrashed Al Ahli 84-61, Al Gharafa comfortably defeated Al Khor 69-54.
Defending champions Al Gharafa were powered by the duo of Osaro Adako and Samuel Monroe who scored 25 and 21 points respectively.
Al Gharafa paced their game to perfection, leading at the end of every quarter and not allowing the opposition much leeway.
Adako scored 23 of his 25 points from field goals, which included one three-pointer, while 19 of Samuel’s points came from field goals, including two three-pointers.
For Al Khor, Souleye Ndour top scored with 20, while Kardell Bridgewaters netted 14 and Anthony Coleman 10.
Meanwhile, Larell Taggart scored a game high 27 points as El Jaish put it past Al Ahli.
El Jaish led 24-11 at the end of the first quarter and had stretched their advantage to 20 points (48-28) by the time the match was 20 minutes old, after which Al Ahli gave up all hope.
Taggart scored 21 points from field goals and was given splendid support by Leon Macklin and Badra Ndoye who scored 24 and 11 respectively.
Narcellius Soyebo and Tyrone McNeal excelled for Al Ahli with 19 and 18 points respectively, while Consteveous Jefferson had 15.
