Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence students and employees celebrated Qatar National Day yesterday in a joyful event that reflected the spirit of the occasion.
In remembrance of Qatar’s unification and independence that will officially be celebrated on December 18, the Academy and a huge number of other Aspire staff members made Tuesday a special day at the Academy to maintain the knowledge and appreciation of Qatar’s heritage, and to encourage pride among Qataris.
“Celebrating the National Day means a lot to every single Qatari and it is important to everyone to show national pride”, said Student Care manager Ali Ahmad al-Hitmi at the opening speech.
In presence of high-ranking officials such as Aspire Zone Foundation CEO Khalid al-Sulaiteen and Ali Salem Afifa, Director of Corporate Services of Aspire Academy, the students presented a traditional programme that included recited verses from the Holy Qur’an, a horse parade, a sword dance performed by students, music, local food, falcons and presents.
Thanks to the excellent organisation of the people involved - especially Saeed Srour, Head of Dormitory, and his team – the event turned out to be a great experience for everyone.
