The two unbeaten teams of the Qatar Stars League, Lekhwiya and Al Sadd will face off today at the Abdullah bin Khalifa stadium, the home ground of the champions.

While both teams have remained unbeaten so far but Al Sadd has drawn one match on the other hand Lekhwiya has won every match it played so far. This obviously has put Lekhwiya in top spot in the league table, with maximum 15 points from five games, while Sadd are close second with 13 points.

Last week, Al Sadd faced a strong Al Arabi side and had to come back from a goal down to secure a point and maintain their unbeaten record.

For Lekhwiya, though, it was business as usual when they travelled north to play Al Shamal. The Red Knights made light work of their opponents and came away with a comfortable 2-0 win.

In a head to head comparison Al Sadd and Lekhwiya have played each other on seven occasions and the wolves have a slight advantage, winning four times to Lekhwiya’s three with only one draw between them in 2013 (2-2). The fixture tends to be a high scoring affair with a 3.5 goals per match average.

The first encounter between the two sides saw a win was for Lekhwiya (1-0) back in the 2010/11 season. Mohammed Razaq scoring the vital goal on the night.

The most recent Qatar Stars League clash between these two giants of Qatari football saw Al Sadd coming out on top with a 2-0 away win.
