The Qatar Stars League and Qatar Airways yesterday announced details of a partnership that will see football fans of the Qatar Stars League (QSL) clubs able to earn Qmiles by attending QSL matches.

The partnership agreement will see Qatar Airways become the flagship partner of Football Rewards, the QSL’s fan loyalty programme, and as part of the deal, Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles will be available to Football Rewards members as a reward to the loyal fans for their support.

By purchasing tickets online via tickets.qsl.com.qa and attending matches, Football Rewards members can reach bronze, silver or gold Football Rewards membership tiers by the end of the season and redeem the Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles they earn by doing so as a reward.

Throughout the season there will also be many more opportunities for all Football Rewards members to win Qatar Airways Privilege Club Qmiles and other fantastic prizes including FC Barcelona match tickets by attending QSL matches. The agreement will see Qatar Airways branding at QSL matches on the LED, media backdrops and flash interview boards.

Commenting at the press conference on the agreement, Mansoor al-Ansari (above left), Chief Operations Officer for the QSL, said: “We are delighted to have Qatar Airways as our flagship partner for our innovative Football Rewards programme. They are one of Qatar’s leading companies, with a strong presence in football and this agreement will give the fans yet another fantastic reason to continue to support their clubs.”

Ehab Amin, Vice-President, Commercial, Qatar Airways, added: “Qatar Airways is proud to be associated with the Qatar Stars League. In supporting this league, fans who purchase their tickets online can also accrue Qmiles for our own Qatar Airways Privilege Club, enabling them to enjoy a range of exclusive privileges and benefits designed to make travelling on our five-star service even more rewarding.”

Today, the QSL will launch Kids Club, the first ever loyalty programme from the QSL for children aged between five years and 13 years old.

QSL to donate ticket sales proceeds of opening matches to Gaza victims

The Qatar Stars League has come up with a noble cause to donate the proceeds of ticket sales of the opening matches of this season to help people in Gaza. The QSL season kicks off today with two matches that will see Al Ahli take on Al Sailiya and Al Arabi take on Al Khor.

This initiative to help the victims in Gaza was thought of collectively by the Al Ahli and Al Arabi clubs and they put forth the idea to QSL. “We at Al Ahli and Al Arabi wanted to show our support for Gaza and do something to help the victims there. We came up with the plan to donate ticket sales of our opening matches and Hassan al-Kuwari (head of events and hospitality, QSL) was happy about this initiative and expressed his full support,” said Ahli’s Nasser Yakoub Laram yesterday.

“We wanted to show our support for our brethren in Gaza. I spoke to my Philippine, Indian and Nepali friends and they also expressed their keenness to support this cause,” Laram added.

Laram also spoke about an earlier instance where they had conducted a benefit match for Philippines after which their club was a big hit with the community and even hosted a match involving the Philippine national team.

“We thank the clubs, QSL and every Qatari for helping out for this cause. This is just the start and we plan to do this on a regular basis.

"We can use sport to help people and this is a good way to help out those in need. I hope everybody comes out to watch the match and support this noble cause,” said Laram.
