The West End Park Ramadan Tournament, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani (secretary general, Qatar Olympic Committee), hosted an entertaining match between Rawal County Cricket Club and Master Cricket Club at the West End Park Stadium on Friday.
Rawal County, after winning the toss and electing to bat, scored a competitive 161 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs. AD top-scored with 65 while Asif contributed 25. For MCC. Aman took two wickets and Mihira scalped one. Master CC overhauled the target in 19.3 overs, scoring 162 for 6 to win by four wickets. Khadeer hit 34 runs and Manjula 29 to help secure a crucial victory. Talha claimed two wickets. Mihira was adjudged the man-of-the-match.
The matches are currently in the group stages, conducted in a round robin format. There are two groups of six teams each, with eight teams qualifying to the quarter-final stages to be held from July 21.
