Hanan proved their superiority in the Qatar Veteran’s Cricket League winning the title in the 1st Hanan Cricket Tournament 2014.

Hanan sponsored the Qatar Veteran’s Cricket League for the first time and have confirmed the association on an annual basis.

With the owner Abdul Rehman Vanoo in India for charity work, the chief guest for the final was Hanan’s Faisal Inamdar.  Among the guests of honour were former India football captain Syed Latifuddin.

Qalco won the toss and elected to bat. They put on a respectable total of 174 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Ifzal was impressive with an unbeaten 28-ball 51, a knock that was punctuated by four sixes and three fours.

Opener Aftab added a quickfire 8-ball 30 with four sixes and a boundary. Pali pitched in with another 17 runs (two sixes).

For Hanan, Babu and Nazeer took two wickets each while Nassir and Imran scalped a wicket each.

In reply, Hanan started strong with opener Aswar scoring 30 runs of 8 balls, which included four sixes and a boundary. Others to contribute in the chase were Sony (25, three sixes), Imran (24, one six, one four), Shakeel (20, one six, two fours), Rauf (18, two sixes) and Parvez (18, three sixes).

Hanan comfortably scored 175 runs for the loss of six wickets with more than seven overs to spare.

Imran of Hanan was adjudged Man of the Final, with his team-mate Parvez being awarded the Best Batsman award. Qalco’s Sarfaraz won the Best Bowler award, Qatar Quarry duo of Manju and Manhara also being given awards for their respective performances throughout the tournament.

Over 300 prizes were given away to various players in the tournament.
