Hani Ballan the Deputy CEO of Qatar Stars League has reaffirmed his support for Al Sadd’s Asian Champions League ambitions. Ballan said in an interview that Al Sadd should feel very confident going into the quarter-final stage of the Asian Champions League

“The QSL will support Al Sadd’s ambitions in Asia’s premier club competition in order for them to reach as far as they can this season. We are 100% behind them and we hope that they will achieve glory and hopefully show the world once more the quality of Qatari football. We know that Al Sadd has a lot of experience in this competition as it is well known that they were previous champions. We know that the club is really aiming to win and we want to honor that goal.” Al Sadd will take on Saudi Arabia’s  Al Hilal in the quarter-final.

 

Successful surgery for Gharafa’s Al Shammari

Al Gharafa’s star midfielder Fahad Al Shammari underwent a surgery for a fractured cheekbone in Munich, Germany. The cheekbone was fractured in three places and needed immediate treatment.

The injury occurred in the Emir Cup in a clash with Abdul Ayish and Shammari could take no further part in the game.

Al Arabi Sports Club held its annual meeting yesterday in the presence of all the club members and officials. All the members received the general assembly reports, with one report covering all the financial aspects of the club and the other about the entire club’s activities in various sports and age groups. The assembly is often full of debate on the major issue and hot topics as the members passionately support their arguments and suggestions for the club.
