Thomas Blair had a game-high 30 points as Al Gharafa thrashed Qatar Sports Club in the Qatar Basketball League at the Al Rayyan Sports Club yesterday.
Blair had 10 field goals and converted eight out of nine free throws as Al Gharafa outscored their rivals with ease. Ward Spates with 27 and Osaro Adako with 24 played excellent supporting roles as also Abdelqadir Salem who had 14.
Al Gharafa led 32-16 after the first quarter and never looked back despite the best efforts of Qatar Sports Club’s Leslie Chauncey and Melquan Bolding who excelled for their team with 23 and 22 points respectively.
In another match yesterday, Al Arabi put it across neighbours Al Ahli 102-91. Adnad Hodzic was again the star for Al Arabi with a whopping 37 points while Earl Byrd had 24.
For Al Ahli, Delonte produced a magnificent 48-point effort but to no avail as he ended up on the losing side.
Today, Al Wakrah meet Al Shamal at 5.30pm followed by a match between Al Rayyan and Al Sadd at 7.30pm.
