Hisham al-Gosaibi (right in picture) has been named president of the Qatar Badminton Association, it was announced yesterday.
Al-Gosaibi, a long-serving general secretary of the Qatar Squash Federation, will now head the relatively new badminton body with a view to promote the sport in Qatar.
Although badminton has been played for decades in Qatar, it’s only recently that a separate body for its governance has been formed. Earlier, badminton’s interests were looked after by the Qatar Squash Federation.
Talal al-Mawlawi, Gamal Rasmi, K O George and Ishaq Murtada have been named board members of the QBA.
