People gather around the bodies of Palestinians from the Abu Jama’a family, who were killed in an Israeli air strike, during their funeral at a mosque in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip yesterday.

An Israeli air strike on a home in the Gaza Strip killed 25 members of one family, according to Israeli human rights group B’tselem, which based its initial findings on field research.

Among the dead in the incident on Sunday were 19 children and several women, including one who was pregnant.

The victims were the Abu Jama’a family and one member of the Hamas organisation who was visiting the four-storey building in Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

“As far as B’tselem knows at this stage, before the bombing no advance warning was sent and no warning shot was fired,” the rights group said in a statement.
