HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage HE Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari, Peru’s ambassador to Qatar Julio Florian and other dignitaries cutting a cake to mark the Peruvian National Day celebrations recently. Florian said Qatar is the first country in the Gulf region to host an embassy of Peru and the South American country’s Doha mission has completed five years. Florian, who has been here since the opening of the embassy, will leave soon, it was informed at the celebrations. The ambassador said cultural events have helped bring the two countries closer in the last five years. He also recalled HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani’s visit to Peru in February 2013 as well as the visit to Qatar by his country’s president in February 2014. Florian also expressed the hope that bilateral relations between Qatar and Peru would continue to flourish in the coming years.
