The Metrash2 application, developed by the General Directorate of Information Systems at the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has been named the best smart services mobile application in GCC countries.
The recognition came during the fourth GCC e-Government Award, Conference and Exhibition held in Bahrain recently.
The award was presented by Sheikh Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Khalifah, Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain, to Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali al-Maliki, assistant director of the Information Systems Department, during a session held on the sidelines of the e-Government Award,
Conference and Exhibition.
During its participation in the conference and exhibition, the MoI introduced the Metrash2 app, which provides more than 100 services of the ministry for the public.
“This award marks another achievement for the Ministry of Interior, which comes in line with the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy through the use of technology and the Internet to enhance service efficiency for the people,” the MoI said in a  statement yesterday.
The award is presented for government authorities in GCC countries, which provide information and services to the public through the Internet.



190,000 users

The Metrash2 application is currently used by more than 190,000 registered users with more than 8,000 transactions daily, the Ministry of Interior has said.
