Accordingly, the police were notified and the suspect admitted to his guilt during interrogation.

GCC citizen on trial for stabbing father
A Doha Criminal Court is hearing a case in which a GCC citizen is accused of stabbing his father to death in a car following a dispute over buying a new vehicle.
After the crime, the accused turned himself in at the Al Shamal police station, local Arabic daily Arrayah reported.
The defence said the mother of the accused does not seek the death sentence as part of her rights for being one of the legal inheritors of the victim.
The court heard the testimony of the psychiatrist who examined the accused. He testified that the accused had Schizophrenia, which made his thinking unclear and could affect his ability to take proper decisions. However, the doctor also stressed that the accused was well aware of his actions at the time of the crime and could be held accountable for what he did.
Another psychiatrist who saw the accused, too, said the accused was able to differentiate between right and wrong while committing the crime. Pointing out that the illness came in bouts, he said the accused was accountable for the crime.
