Chairman of the Q-Post and Council of the Administration (CA) of the Universal Postal Union Faleh Mohamed al-Naemi recently chaired the UPU’s Plenary Session held in Bern.
Al-Naemi also participated in a host of official activities of the CA’s various committees.
Issues concerning member countries and also from the International Bureau were reviewed at the meetings, which focused on restructuring the UPU to cope with the growing requirements of the time owing to technological changes happening in the communication sector.
Such issues as amending letter post and parcel post regulations to meet customer needs and the possibilities of e-commerce were among those discussed.
The UPU’s Council of Administration emphasised the need to have the Universal Postal Service available in all member countries.
