President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev attended a meeting held here yesterday between Qatari businessmen and their Kazakh counterparts.  
Talks during the meeting dealt with issues of common concern and ways to strengthen co-operation in many different areas.
Following the meeting, HE the Chairman of Qatar Businessmen Association (QBA) Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani said the presence of Kazakh president at the meeting reflects the keenness of the Kazakh leadership in enhancing relations between Qatar and Kazakhstan.
HE Sheikh Faisal said that the president of Kazakhstan pointed out that there are many investment opportunities for Qatari businessmen in Kazakhstan, such as agreements with banks, import and export business as well as agricultural, animal husbandry and other projects that can enhance economy in both countries.
He noted that Qatari businessmen have great ability and they can play an important role in promoting the relations between the two countries, hoping that the Kazakh leadership would facilitate procedures and entry of Qatar businessmen to take advantage of the rich opportunities there.
Meanwhile, Qatar Solar Technologies (QSTec) signed an agreement with Kazatomprom, the state-owned nuclear holding company in Kazakhstan in the presence of the Kazakh president.
Under this agreement, Kazatomprom becomes a strategic shareholder at QSTec. It will enable it to produce raw materials in Kazakhstan and then sent to Qatar to be converted into solar cells and solar panels at a later stage.
