Yemeni Human Rights Minister Izz al-Din Asbahi has commended the relief and humanitarian efforts exerted by Qatar for the sake of the Yemeni people as well as its endeavours to provide humanitarian support to them and alleviate their suffering.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of yesterday’s seminar organised by the Arab Human Rights Committee at the Arab League’s General Secretariat to present its report on violations committed by the Houthis in Yemen, Asbahi said Qatar contributed significantly in the humanitarian field in Yemen, while lauding the relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the Arab League renewed its support for the legitimate government in Yemen under the leadership of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, and expressed its continuous quest in co-ordination with the United Nations envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed and other parties concerned in order to reach a political solution to end the crisis in accordance with the provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 and the Gulf initiative and the outcomes of the Yemeni National Dialogue Conference.
Arab League Secretary General Dr Nabil El Araby discussed with Yemeni Human Rights Minister developments in Yemen, particularly the tragic humanitarian situation as a result of the continued violations and crimes committed by Houthi militias and ousted president Ali Abdullah Saleh.
