Workshop on tender competitiveness
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce will organise a two-day workshop on protection of tender competitiveness with participation of GCC government departments and the private sector as well as international experts in the field of protection of competitiveness and the fight against collusion in tender  procedures.
The workshop, which begin on Tuesday, aims to increase the awareness of specialists in tender procedures and its impact on the economy besides deepening understanding and awareness of the need to stimulate competition and anti-manipulation when tendering, through facilitating participation in bidding procedures, and activating the principle of equal opportunities for all companies and methods of agreements disclosure in various forms.

Qatar takes part in WHO meeting
The 62nd session of the Eastern Mediterranean Region of the World Health Organisation has ended in Kuwait City with Qatar participating in it. Qatar’s delegation to the four-day meeting was led by HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani.
Participants discussed world health security with focus on the Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (Mers-CoV) and the influenza virus H5N1 in addition to medical education in the region and ways to enhance psychological health care.

Moroccan minister meets Qatari envoy
Moroccan Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Professional Training Lahcen Daoud has met with Qatar’s ambassador in Rabat, Abdullah bin Falah bin Abdullah al-Dosari. Discussions during the meeting dealt with bilateral ties, especially in the field of education, and ways to strengthen the existing partnership.
