Ooredoo has announced it is a platinum sponsor of the upcoming 2015 Employee Health & Wellbeing Conference and will conduct a workshop on corporate wellness at the event.
Officially supported by the Supreme Council of Health, the conference is scheduled to take place in Doha from October 11-13.
The conference will see leading health experts from global establishments presenting case studies and best practices of how successful occupational health strategies are in the long run.
The workshop, to be conducted by Ooredoo representatives, will feature live demos of the company’s smart healthcare solutions, aiming to inspire more companies in Qatar to take preventive care of their employees.
Studies show GCC nations are witnessing a significant increase in healthcare spending as they are becoming more and more health-conscious. However, due to stress, long work durations and poor nutrition, employees are finding it difficult to meet their wellness goals. To combat this, creating an onsite-wellness programme has become an important goal for companies across the GCC, it is observed in a statement.
Ooredoo recently unveiled its smart healthcare solutions, which include employee health screening via a Pulse kiosk and tracking employee wellness activities via a mobile app and web portal.
The company has also launched the world’s first near-infrared and non-invasive blood circulation technique (HealthGuard-3000 Blood Circulation Analyser), which enables fast and accurate results, checks blood vessel ageing, vascular elasticity, ejection time and strength of cardiac output, the statement adds.
Waleed al-Sayed, COO of Ooredoo Qatar, said: “Our smart healthcare solutions have been put in place to help prevent manageable diseases and heal issues for our employees and customers. We believe that our technology and Supernet network can help change lives, and introducing solutions such as these into the market is just one way we are achieving this.”
