Al Asmakh Finance Initiative Fund (AFIF) has announced the implementation of QR1mn project aimed at financing basic education in remote areas in Pakistan. Dr Mahmoud A ELSaman, head of the Executive Committee and Planning Director at Al Asmakh Charity Foundation said the project comes as part of AFIF’s vision in supporting needy communities and providing educational services for all school-age children in Pakistan including buying books, preparation and maintenance of schools, as well as organising a team of teachers and administrators with a total value of around QR1mn.
Ibrahim Mohamed Ibrahim, programmes and projects manager at Al Asmakh Charity Foundation said the project has been implemented by AFIF partners abroad.

Awqaf ministry opens new mosque
The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has opened a new mosque that can accommodate 240 men and 40 women worshippers in Aba al-Hayat area as part of its plan to double the number of well-designed mosques to reflect Qatari and Islamic heritage.

QR5mn development  projects implemented

Eid Charity said that it had implemented 283 development projects during the current year in several countries around the world at a total cost of around R5mn.
Executive Director of Foreign Projects at Eid Charity, Ali bin Khaled al-Hajri, explained that these projects come as part of NAMAA initiative which was launched by Eid Charity at the beginning of the year, targeting 12 countries such as Palestine, Yemen, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Indonesia, the Comoros Islands, Pakistan, Thailand, Nigeria, Niger and Syria.
The development projects carried out during this period are agricultural or animal or commercial development projects that provide a sustainable source of income for families and the beneficiaries, he added.


Fath Al Khair 2 sets sail today

Katara - the Cultural Village has announced that the Fath Al Khair 2 voyage to India will be launched at the Katara beach, gates 14 and 15, at 4pm today. A traditional ceremony will be held to mark the occasion. The voyage will pass through Oman during both the legs and the return of Fath Al Khair 2 will coincide with the launch of the Fifth Traditional Dhow Festival at Katara.
