Qatari holding group Amlak awarded certificates of appreciation to 200 volunteers for their efforts in serving over 25,000 meals to underprivileged families, labourers and those in need during Ramadan.
The certificates were distributed to the volunteers by Amlak senior business development manager, Abdul Rahman al-Ojeil, group executive director of Qatar Foundation Capital Projects and Facilities Management, Jassim Telefat, and Astad Project Management CEO, Ali bin Nasser al-Khalifa, who thanked them for their efforts and enthusiasm.
“Volunteering for a good cause is such a fulfilling activity in itself. It benefits everyone involved, and we are extremely proud of each and every volunteer who donated their valuable time to give back to the Qatari community. I would like to thank each and every person who volunteered with us this Ramadan,” said Telefat.
The volunteers got together every night during the holy month of Ramadan to serve Iftar meals at the Qatar Foundation Mosque, in collaboration with the Qatar Faculty of Islamic Studies and Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
In addition to the Iftar meals, visitors and volunteers also had optional Islamic studies lectures with real-time English translations every day. The foundation arranged for a safe place for parents to leave their children so that they could attend the lectures and Iftar meal.
“In giving back to the community, our contribution is three-fold. First and foremost, we are benefiting all segments of the Qatar community by doing more than merely lending a helping hand - by bringing families together. Secondly, we are giving people a platform where they can volunteer, and finally, we are actively supporting Qatar’s National Vision for social development,” said al-Khalifa.
Amlak is a Qatari holding company which manages a strategic portfolio of assets through its entities which include; hospitality and leisure, venues and arenas, residential and commercial properties. Managed assets include the Qatar National Convention Centre.
