The Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments) and Islamic Affairs announced that the registration for the 23rd Sheikh Jassim bin Mohamed bin Thani Holy Qur’an contest will begin on Tuesday. It will run until Thursday, October 15.
The contest is open to citizens and expatriates, both males and females.
People may register from 8am to 12.30pm and 4pm to 8pm at Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Hall in Freej Kleeb.
Participants will compete in memorisation of one of the last five parts of the Holy Qur’an.
The contest organising committee said that the contestants’ signup process can be completed in the presence of the competitor or their representatives and those who participated in previous contests can sign up via telephone.
Participants will receive text messages stating the completion of the registration process and their registration reference number in addition to the memorisation category and other details.
The contestant must be a citizen or resident of Qatar. They must send a copy of their Qatari ID or passport, along with a recent photograph (for males only).
The first winner will get QR100,000, while the second, third, fourth and fifth positions in each of the three groups will receive QR85,000, QR70,000, QR60,000 and QR50,000 respectively.
