HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah met his counterpart from other country on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.

HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah yesterday participated in a ministerial meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation on defending the Palestinian issue and Al Quds.
In his speech the Foreign Minister condemned the illegitimate Israeli policies aimed at the Judaisation of Al Quds. He noted that Qatar, in co-ordination with other countries, will move to face the dangerous developments in Al Quds with the aim of using international law to limit Israel’s aggressive policies.
The minister stressed that protecting Al Quds represents a real challenge to the Islamic world and requires co-operation to face it.
Meanwhile yesterday the Foreign Minister met with Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and Investment Promotion Abdusalam Omer, on the sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.
The meeting reviewed developments in Somalia as well as issues of mutual interest.
Al-Attiyah also met Afghani Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani. The meeting discussed developments in Afghanistan and issues of common concern.
The Foreign Minister also met his Maldivian counterpart Dunya Maumoon, and Minister of Environment and Energy Thorig Ibrahim.
The meeting discussed bilateral ties and ways of boosting economic co-operation.
Later, he met Vanuatu’s Foreign Minister Serge Vohor. The two sides reviewed bilateral relations and means of promoting them.
