HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Friday discussed with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan the latest regional and international developments, particularly those related to Palestine in light of the Israeli attacks on the city of Jerusalem and the violation of the sanctity of Al Aqsa mosque.
During a meeting held at the Huber Palace in Istanbul, the two leaders stressed the importance of intensifying efforts for establishing a unified position to support and protect the rights of the Palestinian people. They urged the international community to put an end to the blatant Israeli violations of Jerusalem and Al Aqsa mosque.
Talks also dealt with co-operation and relations between Qatar and Turkey and ways to further develop them to serve the interests of both nations. Views on issues of common concern and the developments in the region, especially in Syria and Yemen, were exchanged during the meeting.
Members of the delegation accompanying the Emir attended the meeting.
On the Turkish side, a number of ministers and senior officials were present.
