Emir to receive Eid well-wishers
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will receive Eid al-Adha well-wishers at Al Wajbah Palace on the first day of Eid as follows: immediately after the Eid prayer and until 6.30am, sheikhs, ministers, the Advisory  Council speaker, ministries’ undersecretaries, Advisory Council members and citizens; from 6.30am to 6.45am,  heads of the diplomatic corps accredited to Qatar; and from 6.45am to 7am, army and police officers and directors of state departments and national institutions. The Emir will also receive sheikhs and citizens immediately after Asr (afternoon) prayer and until 3.45pm.

Extra  buses for holidays
Mowasalat will increase the frequency of its public bus service to meet the expected rise in demand during the Eid al-Adha holidays. The company said it would deploy 12 more buses and 70 additional trips for meeting the holiday rush on a number of routes.The frequencies of services to Al Shamal, Dukhan and Al Khor will be increased during the holidays. Taxi call centres will continue to remain active round-the-clock. Taxi bookings could be made on the toll free number 8008294.

Al-Ghazali wins Vienna Grand Prix
Qatar’s equestrian star Nasser al-Ghazali won the first place at the Vienna Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the Longines Global Champions Tour. Al Ghazali clocked a time of 39.95 seconds without any mistakes. The closing round of the Longines Global Champions Tour will be held in Doha.
