HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has sponsored the education of a 100 Syrian refugees in Universite Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne.
Qatar Attorney-General HE Ali bin Fetais al-Marri on Tuesday signed an agreement with the university’s president Philippe Boutry for providing education to 100 Syrian students in all fields, including law, political science, business and mathematics among other majors.

Qatari Haj Mission medical clinic opens in Makkah

Qatar’s consul general in Jeddah Khamis bin Ibrahim al-Mohannadi has opened a medical clinic for the Qatari Haj pilgrims in Makkah to offer medical services.
The consul general said the clinic is well equipped to provide health services, adding that that it can handle emergency cases.
He said the consulate is working in the service of pilgrims in co-operation with the Qatari Haj Mission to settle any problems they may encounter.
Al-Mohannadi also praised the co-operation of the Saudi authorities with regard to facilitating procedures for the pilgrims from Qatar, noting that the current pilgrimage season will be much easier thanks to the multiple services and preparations taken by the Saudi authorities.
For his part, Dr Khalid Abdul Hadi, head of the medical unit of the Qatari Haj Mission said there is constant co-ordination with the Saudi health authorities.

Greetings sent to Mexico
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto on the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.

FM receives Kerry call
HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah yesterday received a phone call from US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The two sides discussed the recent storming of the Al Aqsa mosque by Israeli forces, and the attack on worshippers. Al-Attiyah urged the intervention of the US to stop the violations, protect the Palestinian people and religious sanctities, and end all hostile and provocative Israeli acts.

ICC cultural show tomorrow

The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) will hold a cultural programme to celebrate the 69th Indian Independence Day tomorrow. The event will be held at the Diplomatic Club Royal Tent from 6.30pm.
Indian Ambassador and ICC patron Sanjiv Arora will inaugurate the event. Entry to the event is by invitation only and is free. Invitation cards can be collected from the ICC office.
The event will showcase glimpses of the history of Indian independence and the rich heritage of the country through various cultural programmes presented by nearly 250 artists from various Indian schools and the affiliated organisations of ICC.
