HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday received a written message from Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, dealing with bilateral relations and ways of boosting and developing them.
The message was delivered to HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah by Mohamed Ould Khouna, Mauritanian minister of water and sanitation and a special envoy of the Mauritanian president.

Qatar greets N Korea, Tajikistan

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani and HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani yesterday sent cables of congratulations to President Kim Jong-un of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on the occasion of the anniversary of his country’s Independence Day.
The three leaders also sent cables of congratulations to Tajikistan President Imam Ali Rahman on the occasion of the his country’s Independence Day.

GCC petroleum panel meeting
Doha will host the 34th session of GCC petroleum co-operation committee at the ministerial level today, which was preceded yesterday by a preparatory meeting for undersecretaries of GCC oil ministries.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada said the meeting comes in consolidation of the mechanism of regular consultation among GCC states, expressing delight to meet GCC ministers of oil in their second home of Qatar. HE the minister said the agenda of the meeting includes several important issues that will help in developing a joint GCC
action.

Ministry recalls Jaguar XK cars

The Ministry of Economy and Commerce, in co-operation with Alfardan Premier Motors, has recalled the 2012-2015 models of Jaguar XK due to a defect in the side lights.
The ministry said the recall was part of its co-ordination efforts to ascertain the extent of car dealerships’ commitment to follow up vehicles’ defects and repair them to protect consumers’ rights.
The ministry also stressed it will co-ordinate with the dealership to follow up maintenance and repairs and will communicate with customers to ensure implementation of the procedures to fix defects.
The ministry urged consumers to report abuses or irregularities by communicating with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat.
