HH the Deputy Emir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad al-Thani met at his Emiri Diwan office yesterday with outgoing Portuguese ambassador Fernando Manuel de Gouveia Araujo.
The Deputy Emir honoured the ambassador with the Sash of Merit in appreciation of his efforts in promoting relations between Qatar and Portugal, and wished him success in his future assignments and the relations further progress and prosperity.
The outgoing ambassador expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Deputy Emir and the state officials for the co-operation he received which contributed to the completion of his duty in the country.
The Deputy Emir also met ambassadors Waheed Mubarak Sayyar of Bahrain and Syed Masood Mahmood Khandkar of Bangladesh who too are leaving Qatar on the expiry of their tour of duty.
During the meetings, the Deputy Emir wished the outgoing ambassadors all success in their future assignments and relations between Qatar and their countries further development.
The ambassadors expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Deputy Emir and the state officials for the close co-operation they received during their tenure in Qatar.
