Ooredoo has  launched two new services designed to enhance Fibre customers’ online experience.
For new Fibre customers, Ooredoo is launching the SuperNet Fibre Wi-Fi Broadband Gateway, a new device that uses the best-in-class Wi-Fi performance to deliver better coverage, faster speeds and offer the best Wi-Fi performance of any fixed carrier in Qatar.
The new Broadband Gateway supports more than 40 simultaneous connections, to satisfy even the most demanding of homes and employs the latest 802.11ac Wi-Fi specifications.
All new Fibre connections will automatically be provided with the new device, which replaces Ooredoo’s existing gateway device. Ooredoo will begin offering the new Wi-Fi Broadband Gateways for new Fibre broadband and Mozaic TV subscribers in the coming weeks.
For existing customers who want to upgrade to the enhanced gateway, the device can be purchased in Ooredoo Shops for a one-off payment of QR499 from  September 1, 2015.
In addition to the new Gateways, Ooredoo is also introducing an incredible new remote management capability that will deliver instant satisfaction for customers, by removing the need for technicians to visit a customer’s premises.
Customers who face problems with their Wi-Fi service or Broadband can call the Ooredoo call centre, and the team will be able to detect and fix a wide range of problems using home device management.
The service will be available to both customers using the new SuperNet Home Broadband Gateway as well as those on existing Ooredoo Wi-Fi access points.
Fatima Sultan al-Kuwari, Director, Community and Public Relations, Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo continues to enhance every area of our customers’ online experience, and the roll-out of the new Broadband Gateway, supported by the addition of remote capabilities, is a major step forward. Customers can now enjoy superior Wi-Fi performance and resolve Internet issues immediately and online.”
There will be no extra cost for the remote management service and Ooredoo anticipates that customers will be able to resolve issues far faster than ever before.
Ooredoo continues to invest and develop its nationwide Ooredoo Fibre network as part of its efforts to make Qatar one of the best-connected countries. More than 236,000 homes are connected to Ooredoo Fibre, as Qatar continues to progress towards one of the highest levels of fibre penetration in the world.
