A broad range of stores in Qatar have expanded the assortment of items included in their “back-to-school” promotions in the run-up to resumption of classes next month.
Aside from standard school supplies, many outlets have also offered affordable prices on a variety of food stuffs, sports gear and accessories, bicycles, electronic gadgets and even popular gaming consoles.
To entice more customers, SportsOne has offered free stationery kits and polar bottles for purchases worth QR125. It has also launched an online competition on Facebook, which can win customers back to school gift hampers.
Also included in their back to school promotion are backpack collections; water bottles; shoes, socks and football shoes; swimwear and other swimming gear; tennis and badminton rackets; basketball backboard; bicycles; and table tennis rackets and tables, among others.
At Jarir Bookstore, whose promotion is valid until September 3, a Galaxy S6 Edge – LTE comes with a free power bank and selfie stick for QR2,199, while the MediaPad T1-A21L comes with a free screen protector and case for QR899.
It also offers “attractive” prices for computer supplies, cameras and video game consoles, aside from the bookstore’s collection of pre-school learning toys, school supplies, and branded and novelty trolley bags and backpacks.
Not only does MonoPrix Qatar offer back to school prices for bags and other school accessories, it also has a diversity of home care products like children’s toothbrushes and toothpastes, sanitary wipes and hand sanitisers, facial tissue, kids wear, and food stuffs like breads, sandwich spreads and beverages, organic snacks, biscuits and cereals, and other lunch box goodies.
LuLu Hypermarket’s “School is Cool” campaign offers QR25 gift voucher for spends worth QR100 on selected items (promo valid until September 4) aside from a wide selection of school merchandise, bags, and other educational supplies.
Al Meera’s Geant Hypermarket has a variety of trolley bag sets featuring cartoon characters and superheroes from popular television shows and movies. It also offers gift vouchers on selected laptop brands, printers, digital cameras, tablets, and smartphones. Prices are valid until September 9.
More selections for bags and trolleys as well as other school supplies are available at Carrefour, which is also offering bookshelves, kids table and chair scholar, and utility shelves at attractive prices valid until September 8.
Even fast food chains have also jumped on the back-to-school bandwagon. Hardee’s has launched a promo where children can get a Looney Tunes cup for free with any meal purchase. The cups come in Tweety, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, and Taz designs.
Meanwhile, KFC is offering an exclusive Fantastic Four back to school gifts festival for every purchase of its “Chicky Kids Meal”. Eight gifts are available, including the Fantastic Four cross body backpack, The Thing cloberring arm embosser, and the Mr Fantastic pencil topper, among others.
