The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), in collaboration with United Cars – Al Mana, the dealer of Jeep and Chrysler in Qatar, has announced the recall of Jeep Cherokee and Chrysler 200C 2014 -2015 models due to defects in the programme of the engine and transmission control units.
The recall comes within the framework of the ongoing co-ordination and follow-up by the ministry to ascertain the dealers’ commitment to follow up defects and repair them to protect consumers’ rights.
MEC has also affirmed that it will co-ordinate with United Cars – Al Mana to follow up the necessary maintenance and repair processes and will communicate with clients to ensure the success of the recall campaign as well as the implementation of the procedures to fix defects.
Consumers have been urged to report any abuses or irregularities by communicating with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat which will receive complaints, suggestions and inquiries through its communication channels: Hotline: 16001, e-mail: [email protected], Social media accounts: Twitter: @MEC_Qatar, Instagram: MEC_Qatar, MEC mobile app for Android and IOS: MEC_Qatar.
Consumers can also submit their complaints through electronic kiosks installed in malls. These systems allow consumers to communicate directly with the Department of Consumer Protection and Commercial Fraud Combat.
