Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) provided training on various banking areas for 50 male and female students from Qatar University’s College of Business and Economics (CBE) this summer. The students were assigned to various bank branches and departments as appropriate in alignment with their CBE majors.
Khalefa al-Mesalam, head of Human Capital Group at QIB commented, “During the past years, QIB has received several groups of CBE students and trained them in the various branches and head office departments in the bank. The experience has been very positive, achieving all set objectives as the students were provided with proper training opportunities to acquaint them on the various Islamic banking products, practices and systems.”
“This programme is an integral part of QIB’s strategy being implemented across the bank by the executive management team. Through the programme, we are happy to contribute to the country’ objective to invest in national talent as part of the Qatarisation policy, and to develop the capabilities of Qatari graduates to assume leadership positions in the future,” al-Mesalam added.
The students who took part in the training programme appreciated the training opportunities in a leading Islamic financial institution such as QIB. The students also confirmed that QIB’s training programme has benefited them with the chance to apply many of the theoretical concepts they have been studying at the college.
