The Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC) has announced a free recall campaign for specific types of  LS-15 power cords for Lenovo gadgets as these cords can overheat.
Consumers have been urged to stop using the product and communicate with Lenovo to replace the power cord with a new one free of charge.
Users could also log on to www.lenovo.com/powercord2014 to get information on how to replace the defective cords and the proper ways of disposing of them. The campaign is being jointly conducted with Ensure Services Arabia, the authorised distributor of Lenovo gadgets.

‘Weak chance’
of rain today


There is a “weak chance” of rain in some parts of Qatar around midday today, the Met office has said.
The day’s forecast for inshore areas says it will be hazy to misty in some places at first, followed by a hot day. Partly cloudy conditions with a weak chance of light rain in some places by midday are also expected.
Partly cloudy and hazy to misty conditions will be seen in offshore areas, according to the weather office.
Doha and Abu Samra are likely to be the hottest places in the country today, with the maximum temperature reaching 43 degrees Celsius.
