Qatar’s non-resident ambassador to the Maldives, Rashid bin Shafie al-Marri, participated in the celebrations marking the golden jubilee of the independence of the Maldives.
The ambassador conveyed the greetings of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani to Maldives President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Qayoum and his wishes of further progress and prosperity to the people of the Maldives.
The Maldives president reciprocated the Emir’s greetings and his wishes of further prosperity and welfare to the Qatari people.
On the sidelines of the celebrations, the ambassador met several officials in the Maldives government, including Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Economic Development Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr Mohamed Shainee and Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Ahmed Ziyad.
