A Doha Misdemeanour Court has ordered the closure of a nursery for three months for conducting activities that violated provisions of its commercial licence, local Arabic daily Arrayah has reported.
The court also ordered the nursery to pay a fine of QR20,000 for the violations.
Earlier, inspectors from the competent authority had found that the nursery, housed in a villa complex, often hosted commercial exhibitions. Some parts of the building were rented out to exhibitors to display their products, it was found.
The nursery also collected entry fees from people who attended the exhibitions.
Though the inspectors warned the nursery management to stop such practices, the latter continued to host exhibitions on its premises. The case was eventually handed over to the Public Prosecution, which investigated the matter and referred it to the court.
