HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr Hamad bin Abdul Aziz al-Kuwari took part yesterday in the 37th Asilah’s annual arts and cultural festival, which was held in Morocco under the patronage of King Mohamed VI of Morocco.  
Speaking at one of the seminars in the event, the Minister said that culture and education was the means to bring people closer. He stressed that the State of Qatar was committed to providing the best education to its people. The Minister praised the role played by Qatar Foundation in that regard.  
On the role of culture, the Minister said that Qatar understands the important role culture plays in development. As a result, culture occupies an important place in Qatar National Vision 2030.
The Minister said that culture can play a prominent role in ending many of the crises the world is seeing, adding that most of the crises the world is witnessing are cultural in nature and not political.  The Minister also discussed the change towards a multi-cultural world, saying that while this fact has become abundantly clear, much work needs to be done to reach a higher level of mutual respect between different cultures.
