Qatargas has categorically denied speculations in news media and social media networks concerning its sponsorship of Al Hilal football club in Saudi Arabia.
“The company is not holding any discussion or talks with the club in this regard and there is no basis for such rumours,” Qatargas public relations manager Azam Abdulaziz al-Mannai said.
The company is reiterating that there is no negotiation going on in this regard and there have been no talks at all.
Many of the social media activists have spread, over the past few days, images of Al Hilal jerseys bearing Qatargas logo. The images appeared to be false and the company spokesman denied that a sponsorship contract had been made with the club.
“Qatargas is proud of the accomplishments made by the Gulf and Arab sports clubs; however, its corporate social responsibility programme mostly covers health, safety, education and sports activities within Qatar,” a company spokesman said.
As is the practice, the company would announce its signing of any agreement or contract with other parties through the official channels, he added.
