Emergency Departments at the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) yesterday received 1,469 cases from 6am until 6pm.
The Hamad General Hospital received 531 various cases, two of which were admitted to the intensive care unit because of severe injuries sustained in road accidents.
Other cases pertained to ingestion, chronic and heart diseases and heat-related ailments. The Emergency Department at Al Wakra Hospital received 438 cases with various types of complaints, mostly minor ones.The Al Sadd Paediatrics Emergency received 500 cases, most of which pertained to heat-related cases. Most of the patients received instant medical care and left the hospital.
Meanwhile, the HMC Ambulance Service has received 515 calls for help in the same period. Around 60% of these were emergencies related to chronic diseases. The air ambulance transported six cases. The calls for help included those related to yesterday’s Abu Hamour and Industrial Area fires.
