Colombian Sports Minister Andres Botero has praised the Qatari experiment in the development of athletics, highlighting the work of Qatar’s leadership in developing the sports sector.
Botero made the remarks during a meeting with Dahlan al-Hamad,  vice president of the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) and president of the Asian Athletic Association (AAA) and the Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF), on the sidelines of IAAF World Junior Athletics championships,  being held at Cali in Colombia.
More than 1,200 athletes from 150 countries are taking part in the event.
Botero, the member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), expressed his pleasure at sporting relations with Qatar and the exchange of ideas to serve the interests of both countries in sports in general and athletics in particular, stressing that Qatar was witnessing “significant and successful achievements in athletics”.
Botero affirmed his keenness to benefit from Qatar’s technical experiences in athletics, saying Qatar’s achievements in sports and athletics were “the result of the work, programmes and strategic vision”.
The two sides have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing the administrative and technical communication to serve athletics in the two countries.
