Zakat Fund to benefit over 2,200 families
The Zakat Fund of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has allotted a sum of QR6,897,700, which is to be spent as aid money to provide the needy with their requirements during Eid al-Fitr.
Some 2,286 needy families, or 12,927 people, registered with the Fund are set to benefit from the aid. They are also getting a fixed monthly aid from the fund and the figures are expected to increase as Eid approaches.
The money is deposited in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries and they are notified about the transfer through SMSes sent to their registered mobile numbers. Accordingly, they are spared any difficulty or embarrassment that may arise from visiting the Fund’s office to receive their aid allowance.


Ministry closes 24 work sites for flouting norms

The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (Molsa) has closed 24 work sites for violating Ministerial Decision No 16 for 2007, which pertains to the ban on midday outdoor work from June 15 to August 31.
The ministry said in a statement that its labour inspectors conducted 475 inspection visits to various worksites between June 15 and 30.

Interior Ministry working hours

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced working hours at some of its departments during the Eid al-Fitr holidays, which begin today and continue until July 23.
Departments such as the General Directorate of Nationality, Borders & Expatriate Affairs, General Directorate of Traffic and Criminal Evidence & Investigation Department will function from 8am to 12noon during this period.

Real estate transactions
The total trading value in the real estate sales contracts registered with the Land Registry Department of the Ministry of Justice last week reached QR952.1mn. The real estate sales included plots of land, houses, and various types of buildings.
