Doha

Qatar Airways has introduced a new online payment option for its Doha-based customers for reservations made on www.qatarairways.com

The new online payment option offers greater flexibility for bookings with flights originating from Doha as passengers who wish to make their payment using a debit card issued in Qatar, can now use the NAPS payment option to securely complete their booking through Qatar’s ‘QPAY’ payment gateway, the airline said in a statement.

QPAY (Qatar National Payment Gateway) is currently providing online electronic payment services using NAPS-enabled (National ATM and Point of Sale Switch) debit cards, which are intended to provide for the interchange of retail payment transactions between the host systems of banks in Qatar.

Qatar Airways senior vice president (Commercial - Qatar) Ehab Amin said the new payment solution had been introduced to give passengers a more flexible payment method.

“Our passengers want to be able to book online 24/7 and instantly access our latest offers. So this new payment solution is both user friendly and gives passengers greater flexibility. With this service enhancement, passengers in Qatar who were unable to make online bookings because they did not have access to credit cards now have a more flexible payment method and can make bookings using their debit cards,” Amin said.

“Qatar Airways is committed to continually innovating and improving its products and services to enhance the travel experience for our customers,” Amin added.
