A Doha Criminal Court has sentenced a young man to six months in jail and imposed a fine of QR5,000 on him for attacking a security employee at a public hospital, local Arabic daily Al Sharq has reported.
The defendant, who was referred to the court by the Public Prosecution, was charged with attacking a public employee while on duty.
The victim works with the Supreme Council of Health as a security guard and, on the day of the incident, was on duty at a hospital. The defendant wanted to go inside and visit somebody without permission. The guard tried to keep him out and called the supervisor-in-charge.
The defendant suddenly grabbed the guard by his neck, slapped him on the face and pushed him aside. The court established his guilt based on the testimony of witnesses.
