HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah at Dasman Palace here yesterday.
The Emir offered condolences to Kuwait’s emir, the country’s people and the families of the victims of the criminal attack that targeted a mosque in the Kuwaiti capital.
The Emir reiterated Qatar’s support to Kuwait in all the measures it has taken to maintain its security and stability and against terrorism and extremism which contradict the teachings of Islam and human moral values.
The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and means to develop and promote them in different fields. The two sides also discussed a host of regional and international issues, particularly the developments in the region.
The meeting was attended by HH Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, the Special Representative of HH the Emir, and the members of the accompanying delegation.
On the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by Crown Prince Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, Speaker of the National Assembly Marzouq Ali al-Ghanim, Prime Minister Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah and a number of Kuwaiti ministers and senior officials.
Following the meeting, the Emir attended the Iftar banquet which was hosted by the Emir of Kuwait in his honour.
The Emir later left Kuwait City concluding a short visit.
He was seen off at Kuwait International Airport by Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali al-Ghanim, Prime Minister Jaber al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah and Kuwaiti ministers and senior officials.
