HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani has received a written message from Prime Minister of Australia Tony Abbott pertaining to bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them.
The written message was received by HE the Foreign Minister Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah during a meeting with Australia’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Qatar Pablo Kang.



Advisory Council panel discusses sponsorship law

The Advisory Council’s Internal and External Affairs Committee discussed the sponsorship law yesterday.
The law on regulating the entry, exit and residence of expatriates was returned to it by the Advisory Council for more discussion.
The committee decided to invite HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani and HE the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Abdullah Saleh Mubarak al-Khulaifi to attend its upcoming meeting to share the views of the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs on the draft law.
Yesterday’s meeting was chaired by its rapporteur Mohamed Abdullah al-Sulaiti.


Advisory Council  to be adjourned on July 12
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued Decree No 37 of 2015 adjourning the 43rd regular session of the Advisory Council.
The decree stipulates that the session is to be adjourned as of Sunday, 25th of the fasting month of Ramadan 1436 Hijri year, corresponding to July 12, 2015.

Qatar-Singapore ties reviewed
HE the Chief of Staff of Qatari Armed Forces Major General Ghanim bin Shaheen al-Ghanim met Singapore Air Force Chief Major General Hoo Cher Mou and his accompanying delegation yesterday.

Nine new Independent Schools
QNA/Doha

HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi issued a ministerial decision to open nine new independent schools, relocate 14 independent schools and allocate nine buildings for kindergarten.
The ministerial decision was made in accordance with ensuring the best geographical distribution of  educational institutions.
