The inaugural Qatar International Medical Devices & Healthcare Exhibition and Conferences (QMED) will be held  under the patronage of Supreme Council of Health (SCH) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre in December.
Hamad Jassim al-Hamar, director of the Public Relations Department, SCH said: “This exhibition supports the efforts of SCH to open channels of communication with those in the health sector, which is necessary to bring  necessary and quality progress in the health sector as well as creating opportunities for cooperation and partnership”.
Al-Hamar praised the allocation of a QBlue Zone in the exhibition dedicated to diabetes, one of the most important health issues in Qatar, the Gulf region and the world.
Khalifa al-Mohannadi, general manager of Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences, the organiser of QMED, praised the strategic support provided by the SCH stressing that the support was critical in the long-term success.
Al-Mohannadi pointed that QMED will be held on an area of around 5,000 square metres, with  participation of more than 100 local and international companies and institutions. This includes the most prominent leaders in the development and provision of medical equipment, hospital supplies and medical laboratories. He stressed that the Qatar’s success in the health sector was the catalyst for organising this event in Qatar.
QMED attracts a wide range of global and local industry-leading medical institutions and health agencies, and the exhibition includes 10 key sections, such as the medical supplies industry, educational medicine sector and medical tourism.This is, in addition to dedicated exhibition for diabetes and dental sections.These are supported by the Qatar Diabetes Association and the Mena Diabetes Federation as well as the Qatar Dental Society.
