HE the Foreign Minister’s Assistant for Foreign Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Rumaihi took part in the extraordinary meeting for the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) member states’ foreign ministers on the situation in Yemen at the OIC headquarters.
Qatar reiterated, during the ministerial meeting, its continued support for the constitutional legitimacy of Yemen represented in President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi and his efforts to achieve national unity. It also stressed the unity, sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Yemen, and its support to the people of Yemen.
Qatar expressed its support for humanitarian efforts made by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, calling for the adoption of the Gulf initiative and its implementation mechanisms as well as the outputs of the national dialogue and Riyadh Document as a basis to resolve the Yemeni crisis.
Qatar called for the need to comply with Security Council resolutions on Yemen, in particular Resolution (2216) which called for the withdrawal of Houthi militias and supporters from all cities and provinces of Yemen, the evacuation of government and security institutions, putting an end to any action that would undermine peace, security and stability in Yemen, and the restoration of the status quo ante to the situation existing prior to September 2014.
Qatar favours a positive outcome from the Geneva conference so as to contribute to restoring security and stability to Yemen, and affirmed it would continue delivering humanitarian assistance to Yemenis.

Emir issues decrees
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday issued the following decrees:
1.Decree No 32 for the year 2015 ratifying the agreement on economic, trade and technical co-operation between the governments of Qatar and Kyrgyzstan signed on June 3, 2014.
2.Decree No 33 for the year 2015 ratifying the Memorandum of Understanding for  co-operation in diplomatic training between the Diplomatic Institute at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Saukd al-Nasser al-Sabah Diplomatic Institute at Kuwait’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed in Kuwait on April 23, 2014.
3. Decree No 34 for the year 2015 ratifying the agreement on exempting official biometric passport holders from entry visa rules between the governments of Qatar and Germany signed in Berlin on April 16, 2013.
4. Decree No 35 of 2015, allowing Qatar Development Bank the use of land belonging to Al Azab souq project.  
5. Decree No 36 for 2015 allocating land for the use of the Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation “Kahramaa” to establish a plant for producing electricity and water.


Emir ratifies Cabinet decisions

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani yesterday ratified Cabinet decision No 26 for the year 2015 which amends some provisions of Decision No 20 of 2013 which established two committees for evaluating real estate expropriated for public interest and the appointment of terms of reference.
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani also ratified Cabinet decision No 27 for the year 2015 which amends the regulations of some administrative units in the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and the appointment of its terms of reference.


Emir issues two laws
HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani issued Law No 11 of 2015 on establishing commercial companies yesterday.  
HH the Emir also issued Law No 12 of 2015, amending some provisions of Law No 17 of 2010 which regulates the National Human Rights Committee.

Sports Minister receives message
HE the Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanim bin Nasser al-Ali yesterday received a written message from Somali Minister of Youth and Sports Mohamed Abdullahi Hassan Noah. Somali ambassador to Doha Omar Idris handed the message as he met the minister.


Advisory Council committee meets
The Advisory Council’s Public Services and Utilities Committee held a meeting under its rapporteur Saqer Fahad al-Meraikhi.  
The committee examined the request submitted by a number of members for the public debate on health insurance costs.
The committee decided to invite HE the Minister of Public Health Abdullah bin Khalid al-Qahtani to attend its next meeting.


Qatar, Canada discuss ties

HE Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi, the Minister of Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council yesterday met Clyde Jackman, Minister of Advanced Education and Skills at the Cabinet of Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador province, currently on a visit to Doha.
During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of  developing them, particularly in higher education, technical education and scientific research.


CMC session rescheduled
The Central Municipal Council (CMC) rescheduled its bi-weekly session to Sunday due to a low turnout of members yesterday for the final session of the outgoing fourth round of the civic body.
The number of the CMC members did not meet the legal requirement for holding a session in accordance with the internal regulations of the council. Elections to the fifth round of the CMC were held last month.

Qatar-India sports ties reviewed

HE the Minister of Youth and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali met Indian ambassador to Qatar Sanjiv Arora yesterday.
They discussed co-operation between the two countries in the field of youth and sports as well as ways of enhancing them.
